Dr-Universe at the European Championships

With support from the Athletic Union and the NOC*NSF, under the flag of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) (http://www.paralympic.org/) this week the European Athletics Championships for disabled athletes were organised at the sportfacilities of ‘Pagedal’ in Stadskanaal in the Netherlands.
Since, being the last important test before the Paralympic Games, which are planned for this year in Londen from the 29-th of August untill the 9-th of september, more than 500 participants had signed for these European Championships, which is the third largest sportsevent for disabled athletes, after the Paralympics and the World Championships.

Also your one and only robotman dr-Universe was invited.
But, because his laptimes were not fast enough by far to win a medal, he was not allowed to compete. Even more, because the organisation feared he would not finish before darkness falls in, you don’t need to look for his name on the list of participants.

However, instead he was assigned to show off his highly complex, mechanical movements during the evening in front of the athletes.

Many grabbed the opportunity to take a picture of themselves, together with this unique robotman.

During his performance, dr-Universe really put himself out.
Especially, he did try to awe miss Marijana Goranovic, though small, a very brave athlete, representing the country of Montenegro at the sport of shot put. However, between all these top-athletes, it may come as no surprise, that she was hard to impress by a musculated bionic torso.

Marijana will be the first woman in history, to represent Montenegro at he Paralympic Games in London. Every day she dedicates herself to the necessary hours of training to make her Olympic dream become real in the end.

And let the competition be warned. Because Marijana Goranovic is going for gold!!!
