Robot in a sea of Flowers

Last weekend in Eelde (north of the Netherlands) the Flowershow on wheels, called ‘Bloemencorso Eelde’ was organised, which has a long tradition since, starting 1957 and since then, it has expanded into one of the biggest and most beautyful festivals of its kind. This Event has become a giant public- magnet, with more than 90.000 spectators each year, with a growing number of visitors from abroad.

This Flower-show is not at all comparable to other shows in the Netherlands, because of the creative skils of flower-arrangements on colossal carriers on wheels, together with colourful dressed figures, theatre and marching music bands. More than 3.000 volunteers are making this from scratch into a one-of-a-kind happening.

At saturday the march is starting, finished with the announcement of the winners. And the next day all the flower carriers are exhibited at the festival-terrain in the centre of Eelde, with music, food and fun. At that peticular day, dr. Universe was invited to enjoy People & Nation all together. Many went for a picture with this shiny, impressive creature.
